This is one of our favorite spots in Maine. The Lighthouse has been in operation since 1835. You can walk out on the rocks, and can even go inside the tower. When we were there Sunday the rocks were slippery and the tower was closed because it was raining. The bellhouse was built in 1897 to hold two Shipman Fog Engines which operated the Fog Bell.

There's a really interesting Fishermen's Museum. Highlights included a Fresnel lens from Baker Island, and talking to a local lobsterman. 
There's also an art gallery, with beautiful paintings of the lighthouse and area. Have to get back there on a sunny day!
