Arthur R Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge Canoe Trail

This is one of my favorite places to go kayaking.

The trail is 5.5 miles, and takes a few hours by kayak. Longer by canoe.
You can rent a canoe or kayak here. We like the double kayak.

Feels great to be back on the water.

Here's my brother, Steve.

You need to keep your eyes out for these - alligator crossing ahead.

They are also basking in the sun by the side.

We always see beautiful birds - here's a wood stork.

And a heron.

So much fun!

A fall weekend

Judy came to visit for the weekend.

We went leaf peeping.

Here's a view of our favorite river, The Kennebec.

We did some kayaking...

It started out sunny, but after awhile we wondered if we'd get caught in the rain.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Riverside Farm Market in Oakland, Maine.

Judy found a jar of old buttons at Kozy Korner in Oakland, Maine.

October is the month for cooking with pumpkins and apples.

Kayaking to the ice cream stand.

On the way to the ice cream stand. One of our favorite summer-time adventures is kayaking down the Serpentine to the ice cream stand. Here's my friend, Norma.

And, here's Diana. Amy was there too, but she and I were in the Banana Boat (tandem) so I didn't get any pictures of her.

The ice cream stand closed on Labor Day - always a sad time...
